Eco Garden Update!

7th Nov 2013

Our Eco Garden and Play Project is well underway. We received an Awards for All grant to make this happen! A big thanks to members of the local community who were able to give up some of their free time during the past few weeks to pull weeds, do some planting, paint fences and put up our reed screening. Our new Jelly Babes area is almost complete!

Our play equipment will be here soon! This is what the children picked! A Megafort Mountain and  Captain Jack Playship! We’ve bought a whole lot of warm, fleece-lined snowsuits so that they can enjoy these all year round!

Once the major landscaping and installation of the garden and play equipment is finished, we will be asking parents to get involved in the fun part – fruit treesPLANTING in the garden with the children!

We are purchasing some fruit trees and berry plants along with a whole host of other things, which the children will enjoy tending to throughout the coming year.

Some time within the next 8 weeks, we will also be planting our Living Willow Tunnel and Wigwam and will be looking for volunteers to get involved and help the children weave the willow reeds into shape. Here’s what it will look like when it’s finished:
