Jelly Babes Group
Our Ethos
In our Jelly Babes room, we have created a nurturing, homely environment where staff care for our babies and younger toddlers as if they were their own. We encourage and support decision making and provide opportunities for the young child to explore the world from a secure place.
Each child get’s the attention they need and deserve at such a precious young age.
Staff know and appreciate that children’s experiences in their early years are closely related to the quality of care that they receive and that these experiences have a real impact on how children develop in the future. It is because of this that we believe in providing exceptional quality of careĀ which identifies key features that support and promote sensitive and well informed approaches.
We are caring, observant, engaging, sensitive and flexible in the ways we respond to all our children as what they learn through their interaction with people and their immediate environment in their early years will have an impact on their future happiness and well-being.
Jelly Babes Room Routine
Our approach for 0-2 years takes its focus from your child and steers away from subjects and distinct curriculum headings, and recognises the ‘holistic’ nature of development and learning. We provide opportunities to play, to interact, to explore, to create and problem solve. We use ‘treasure baskets’ and ‘Heuristic play’ based on natural sensory materials.
Play Areas
Our Jelly Babes room is split into smaller areas as very young children may feel overwhelmed in a large space. We have a small, homegrown corner where the children can play and interact in a variety of different ways in a homely setting. We have a Sensory Corner with a variety of colourful materials and different textures. We have our very popular Tots Ball Pools which the children love to explore and we also have a Quiet Corner for naps and rest.
